GX-Era Dueling Notes
Jun. 6th, 2020 06:50 am- The top three ranked duelists in the professional dueling circuit are Yugi Muto, Seto Kaiba and Katsuya Jounouchi. Their titles are all ones that can only be claimed if both the person in question and any of the other two that are beneath them are taken down. If you beat Kaiba but lose to Jou, no title from either fight. If you beat Yugi but lose to Kaiba or Jou, the same. Jounouchi has lost his title about a thousand or so times, but regained it each time.
- Kaiba has about fifteen wins to every loss, but duels less far frequently than the rest due to his job.
- Yugi has since retired from the professional dueling circuit to focus on his family and job but is still accepting challengers, though he only rarely makes tournament appearances.
- Jounouchi remains a professional duelist.
- Less than 400 people have managed to beat both Kaiba and Jounouchi, and all of those have been crushed by Yugi
- Personal Duel Rate: With 64 people in the finals of a tournament, each person duels six times. Counting one tournament per week for 22 years, that's 6864 duels, but that only factors in tournaments, and not personal challenges. If we assume a max of 12 duels per week that's 13728, which puts Jou's win/loss rate at an average of 13 wins and 1 lose.
